BANYARD MILLET TIKKI
These tikkis are upvas / fast friendly. These are made from banyard millet (samo). This is a healthy, fiber packed tikki recipe made from banyard millets. Samo recipes are very nutritious and fast friendly. The consumption of barnyard millet can possess various health benefits against diabetes, cardiovascular diseases, obesity, skin problems, cancer and celiac disease. INGREDIENTS
¼ cup banyard millet (soak overnight)
¼ Cup grated carrot
¼ cup mashed potato
1 tbsp chopped coriander
¼ tsp green chilly ginger paste
½ tsp lemon juice
1 tbsp chopped roasted peanuts
¼ tsp sugar
Salt to taste
1 tsp oil(For cooking)
To serve
Green chutney or ketchup
METHOD
Soak the banyard millet overnight in water.
Pressure cook for 2 whistles, strain and let it cool down.
How to proceed
Mix together all the ingredients including cooked banyard and make mixture..
Divide this into 6 equal parts and shape into tikkis.
Heat a pan and cook the tikkis from both the sides with some oil.
Serve hot with green chutney or ketchup.
