BATATA MUSALLAM
This is the perfect potato sabzi you need to try! This is the legendary sabzi which was shown in the movie Tarla this one is for all the potato lovers and will replace your dum aloo for sure! Here’s our version of Batata Musallam with a lovely tangy tomato gravy and air fried potatoes and green peas you can even fry the potatoes! To make it rich this is finished by adding beaten curd. Give it a try and you will fall in love with it!

Serves 4
INGREDIENTS
For the Gravy Base
6 Tomatoes Chopped
2 Onions Chopped
2 tbsp Oil
1 tbsp Ginger Paste
3 Garlic Cloves
2 Cloves (lavang)
2 Dried Whole Kashmiri Red Chillies
1 Cinnamon Stick
1 tsp Coriander Powder (Dhaniya powder)
½ tsp Red Chilli Powder
¼ tsp Turmeric powder (haldi)
Salt to taste
1 tbsp Sugar
Other ingredients
2 tbsp Oil
¾ Cup Boiled Green Peas
2 Cups fried and peeled Baby Potatoes
4 Bay leaves
1 tsp Jeera
1 cup water
¼ tsp Hing
1 tsp Kasturi methi
2 tbsp curds
Salt to taste
METHOD
For the Gravy Base
In a pan, heat oil and sauté garlic, ginger paste, whole red chillies,cinnamon stick, cloves and onions.
After a minute, add in tomatoes and let it cook for 5 minutes.
Once done, add in red chilli powder, coriander powder, turmeric,salt to taste and sugar. Cover and let it cook for 5 minutes.
Let this cool down and then puree this mixture into a fine paste.
How to proceed
In a pan heat oil, saute jeera,kasturi methi , hing and bay leaves.
Add the gravy and saute for 1/2 minute.
Add in the fried potatoes, green peas, water and cook for ½ minute.
Add in the curd, salt to taste and cook for 2 minutes.
Serve hot with naan or paratha.
