Drumstick and Tuvar Dal Soup Recipe|Renu dalal

INGREDIENTS

  • 1½ cup drumstick chopped
  • ¼ cup Tuvar dal
  • ¼ cup onion chopped
  • ¼ cup tomato chopped
  • 2 garlic cloves
  • 3 cups of water
  • ½ tbsp oil

Other ingredients

  • Salt pepper to taste
  • Pinch of haldi
  • Pinch of hing
  • ½ tsp chilli powder
  • Salt to taste
  • 2 tbsp chopped coriander
  • 2 tsp oil

METHOD

For the base

  1. In a pressure cooker add in oil and saute onions, Tomatoes and garlic cloves.
  2. Add in soaked tuvar dal, chopped drumsticks and water.
  3. Mix well and pressure cook it for 3 whistles.
  4. Once cooked, let it cool down.
  5. Once done, blend this into a puree.
  6. Strain the soup.

How to proceed

  1. In a pan heat oil. Saute hing and turmeric powder for half a minute.
  2. Add in the strained soup, chilli powder, and salt to taste.
  3. Cook for a minute. Finish by adding chopped coriander.
  4. Serve hot.
