DUM CHAI

This chai is trending and tasty to have.This amazing tea is made by a different method completely. It is cooked slowly hence the name dum chai. The tea concotion is made by steaming all the ingredients wrapped in a muslin cloth. hence this tea gives a tandoori chai feel altogether. Do try this recipe and enjoy a good winter evening.

INGREDIENTS

    • 2 tbsp Tea Leaves
    • 1 tbsp Sugar
    • 3 Cloves
    • 2 Small Cinnamon Stick
    • 2 Cardamom pods
    • 1 tsp Chopped Ginger
    • ½ tsp Tea Masala
    • 1 tbsp Lemongrass
    • 1 cup Water
    • 1 cup Milk

METHOD

    1. Fill a small vessel with 1 Cup Water and cover the top with muslin cloth.
    2. In the muslin cloth add tea leaves, sugar, cinnamon stick, cloves, ginger, tea masala, cardamom pods, chopped lemongrass and with a rubber band tie the muslin cloth to the glass.
    3. Fill half a pan with water and place this vessel in the middle of the pan, immersed in water.
    4. Cover with a lid and let it steam for 15 minutes.
    5. The tea decoction is ready, squeeze the excess water from the muslin cloth.
    6. In a pan, take milk, mix in the tea decoction and let it boil.
    7. Serve hot
