Who doesn`t love fafdas? Most popular gujurati snack recipe and I`m sure it`s loved by all. These are super delicious crispy fafdas enjoyed specially on the side of jalebis, but they taste fab just like that too! This is a foolproof easy to make Fafda recipe and you`ve got to try it! They are made from besan and some spices. The main ingredient and taste comes from Carom seeds (Ajwain) so make sure not to miss it. The trick to make these fafdas are important as they are not rolled with a rolling pin, they are supposed to be stretched with the palm of your hand into long strips and then fried. Makes
serves 4
INGREDIENTS
1 Cup Besan
3 tbsp Oil
3 tbsp Water
½ tsp Ajwain
½ tsp Turmeric Powder
¼ tsp Hing
Salt to taste
Pinch of soda bi carb
Other ingredients
Oil for frying
METHOD
Mix all the ingredients in a plate.
Knead a semi soft dough.
Once done, divide the dough into equal sized portions and make them into small balls.
Roll each of these balls into long and thin strips with your palm. Make sure that the rolling is done at a stretch to avoid the dough breaking up.
Heat the oil for frying. Fry these long strips carefully into hot oil.
Deep-fry the fafda dough strips, turning them till they are browned on both sides.
Serve hot with bhavnagrai chillies and jalebi.
Alternatively store in an air tight container and eat at your convenience.
