HASH BROWN
Hash browns are a popular American breakfast dish consisting of finely julienned potatoes that have been fried until golden browned. We have simplified the process of making hash browns for you. Use grated potatoes instead of juliennes and it makes a lot of difference. The twice cooking of the potatoes gives it the extra crispiness. Do not miss the cornflour, as it helps in binding the potato together. This hash brown recipe is healthy too, uses much lesser oil and made in a jiffy with extremely easy ingredients. Made with just 5 ingredients this recipe gives foolproof hash browns everytime. Hash browns are a staple breakfast food in North America. INGREDIENTS
2 Medium Sized Potatoes
2 tbsp Oil
¼ tsp oregano
½ tbsp cornflour
Salt to taste
METHOD
For the potatoes
Wash and peel the potatoes.
Immediately grate the peeled potatoes.
Heat 1 tbsp oil in a nonstick pan and sauté the grated potatoes for 5-7 minutes.
Keep mixing the potatoes to avoid sticking to the pan. Let the potatoes cook.
Once done, transfer this to a plate and let it cool down.
How to proceed
Once cooled down, add in corn flour, oregano, salt to taste and mix well into a dough.
Make 3 equal rounds from the dough and shape them into hashbrowns (Oval and flat).
Heat 1 tbsp oil in a pan add the hashbrowns and let them cook.
Flip and cook on the both the sides until they are golden brown.
Serve hot.
