Homemade Baked Beans Recipe|Renu dalal

INGREDIENTS

  • ¼ cup white beans (soak for 4 hours)
  • 1 Cup tomato puree
  • ¼ cup chopped onion
  • ½ tsp Kashmiri red chilli powder
  • 3 tbsp tomato ketchup
  • 2 tbsp chopped celery
  • 1 tsp garlic green chilli paste
  • 1 tsp corn flour + 1 tbsp water
  • ½ tsp oregano
  • Salt to taste
  • 1 tsp oil

METHOD

For the beans

  1. Soak white beans for 4 hours
  2. Pressure cook these for 6-7 whistles.

How to proceed

  1. In a pan, heat oil and sauté garlic green chilli paste and onions. Cook for 30 seconds.
  2. Add in tomato puree, red chilli powder, ketchup, celery, oregano, and salt to taste.
  3. Cook for 1 minute.
  4. Add in boiled beans and cook for 1 minute.
  5. Finish by adding cornflour slurry, stir well and cook for a minute.
  6. Serve hot with buttered toast.
