MAKHANA KHEER

INGREDIENTS
- 1 tbsp ghee
- 1 Cup Makhana
- 3 ½ Cups Full fat milk
- ¼ Cup Sugar
- ¼ tsp cardamom powder
- 7-8 saffron strands
- 2 tbsp Sliced roasted cashews
- 1 tbsp Sliced Pistachio
For garnish
METHOD
- In a vessel heat the ghee and roast the makhana till crisp.
- In a food processor blend the makhana into a fine powder.
- Boil milk and add in sugar, cardamom powder, saffron.
- Mix well and add in the powdered roasted makhana.
- Keep stirring and let it cook for about 15 minutes until the milk thickens and reduces to about half the quantity.
- Once done, garnish with cashew and pistachios. Serve hot or cold as per your preference.
