NORTH INDIAN FRUIT CHAAT

Very tasty or serve it as a salad at your next get together. You can add sweet potatoes if you wish. This North Indian fruit chaat is ideal for fasting. Papaya, grapes, apples , cubed potatoes form this amazing chaat. You can use sweet potatoes if you wish. To flavor it you can add chaat masala, jeera powder, lemon juice and rock salt to taste. potatoes in a fruit chaat sounds weird but believe me it is to die for! do try it once and you will be left asking for more.

NORTH INDIAN FRUIT CHAAT Recipe|Renu dalal

INGREDIENTS

  • ½ cup peeled and chopped apples
  • ½ cup chopped papaya
  • ½ cup chopped bananas
  • ½ cup boiled, peeled and chopped potatoes
  • ½ cup chopped grapes
  • Oil for sauteing

To add later

  • ½ tsp chaat masala

  • ½ tsp jeera powder

  • ½ tsp lime juice

  • Rock salt to taste

For garnish

  • Mint leaves

METHOD

For the potatoes

  1. Saute the chopped potatoes in oil for 2 to 3 minutes. You can deep fry them if you wish.

How to proceed

  1. Chill the fruits in a refrigerator for 1 hour.
  2. Add the sauted potatoes and mix well.
  3. Add the chaat masala, jeera powder, lime juice, rock salt to taste and mix well.
  4. Garnish with mint leaves and serve.
