PONKH BHEL

It is a seasonal speciality dish! Ponkh or also known as Tender Jowar is so very healthy and nutritious. During winters, jowar is very tender and juicy and hence the name ’Ponkh’ Ponkh Bhel is traditionally eaten in winters and enjoyed by all. It is a speciality of Surat and Gujarat. Can be made in a jiffy. Ponkh has amazing health benefits too, it is gluten free and full of fiber.

PONKH BHEL Recipe|Renu dalal

INGREDIENTS

  • 2 cups ponkh
  • 2 tbsp chopped onions
  • 2 tbsp chopped tomatoes
  • 1 cup lemon sev
  • 1 tsp sugar balls
  • Salt to taste
  • 2 tbsp tamarind chutney
  • ½ tbsp green chutney

METHOD

  1. Sauté the ponkh on a non-stick tawa for 1 minute.
  2. In a bowl mix all the ingredients together.

To serve

  1. Serve immediately.
