INGREDIENTS

    • ½ cup white flour (maida)
    • 1 tbsp milk
    • 1 tsp baking powder
    • ½ tbsp oil
    • ½ tbsp water
    • ¼ tsp salt
    • ¼ tsp sugar
    • 2 tbsp yoghurt

    For the filling

    • 1/2 cup grated cheese
    • 1/4 cup chopped jalapeño
    • 2 tbsp parsley
    • 1/4 tsp chilli flakes
    • 1/4 tsp oregano
    • 1/4 tsp thyme
    • Salt pepper to taste

    To serve

    • Butter for brushing the naan

METHOD

    For the filling

    1. Mix all the ingredients together in a bowl.

    For the dough

    1. Mix all the ingredients together to form a dough.
    2. Knead the dough well.
    3. Applylight oil on the dough and cover with a wet cloth for 2 hours.
    4. Knead the dough again and divide into 8 equal portions.
    5. Roll out the naan in a circluar shape with the help of a little flour.
    6. Add a spoonful of the filling in the centre and seal the dough again.
    7. Roll out with small with a little flour, carefully so it doesn’t tear.
    8. Sprinkle water on one side of the naan.
    9. Heat the tawa. Do not use a nonstick tawa. Put the water side naan over the tawa. Once the dough starts drying, turn the tawa over the flames and let it cook the naan from the top.
    10. Once the naan is ready, remove and brush with butter.
    11. Serve hot immediately
