KAALI DAL
Kaali Dal popularly known as ’Maa ki Dal’ or Dal Makhani. Here’s a healthy take on the all time favourite Dal Makhani. this dal is so very flavourful you can enjoy with rice, naan or roti! A healthy version of Dal Makhani full of flavour and aroma and packed with goodness of black lentils. you can even add rajma to this if you want to make it more tasty!

INGREDIENTS
- 2 ½ cups soaked black urad dal (soak 1 cup black urad dal for 8 hours)
- 1 cup chopped onion
- ½ cup chopped tomato
- 3 cloves crushed garlic
- 3 cups water
- 2tbsp cream/curd
- 1 tsp coriander powder
- 1 tsp garam masala
- 1 cup water
- 2 tbsp butter
- 2 pieces taj (cinnamon stick)
- 2 pieces tej patha (bay leaf)
- Salt to taste

METHOD
- In a pressure cooker cook the urad Dalal with onion, tomato, garlic and water. Once it is cooked well, mash a little with a whisk.
- In a vessel heat the butter, add the taj, tejpatta, coriander powder, garam masala and saute for half a minute.
- Add the mashed urad dal, cream, 1 cup water, salt to taste. Cook for 8 to 10 minutes.
- Serve hot with vegetables and naan.
