INGREDIENTS

    • 3 – 4 Medium Sized Tomatoes Chopped
    • 1 Medium Sized Onion Chopped
    • 2 tbsp Soaked Toovar Dal
    • ¼ cup Coriander stem chopped
    • ¼ tsp cumin seeds
    • Pinch hing
    • ½ tsp coriander powder
    • ¼ tsp red chilli powder
    • ½ tsp turmeric powder
    • 1 dried kashmiri red chilli
    • 3 garlic cloves
    • 3 Cups water
    • 1 tbsp oil

    Other Ingredients

    • ½ tbsp ghee
    • ¼ tsp jeera
    • 1 Bayleaf
    • 1 cinnamon stick
    • 2 tbsp chopped coriander
    • Pinch of sugar

METHOD

    For the pressure cooker

    1. In a pressure cooker heat oil and saute jeera, hing, dried red chilli and garlic.
    2. Add in onions, tomatoes, soaked toovar dal, coriander powder, red chilli powder, turmeric powder, coriander stems and salt to taste.
    3. Top up with water and pressure cook for 3 whistles.
    4. Once done, release the pressure and transfer to a plate to cool it down.

    How to proceed

    1. Once cooled down, blend into a smooth puree and sieve it.
    2. Heat ghee in a pan and saute jeera, bayleaf and cinnamon stick.
    3. Add in the blended soup, coriander and sugar.
    4. Cook for 2 minutes and serve hot.
