SPOT IDLI
this is the classic Hyderabadi special spot idlis! These are so tasty and super easy to make at home! It’s a South Indian special idli recipe, made from an idli batter but like an uttapam. Sprinkled podi masala tastes just fab and lifts up the entire dish! The masala mixture is the main part of this dish! Do make it and let us know!

INGREDIENTS
¾ cup Idli batter
For the masla mixture
2 tbsp Chopped Onion
3 tbsp Chopped Tomato
¼ tbsp ginger garlic green chilly paste
½ tbsp Butter
¼ tsp turmeric powder
¼ tsp red chilli powder
¼ tsp podi masala
¼ tsp garam masala
1 tbsp water
Salt to taste
To add later
Chopped coriander

METHOD
For the masla mixture
In a pan melt butter, add in Ginger garlic green chilly paste and saute for ½ a minute.
Add in chopped onions, chopped tomatoes, salt and saute for 1 minute.
Add in water, turmeric powder, red chilli powder, podi masala, garam masala and mix well.
Once done set aside this mixture.
How to proceed
In a mini uttapam pan, place a spoonful of the filling and top up with the idli batter. Repeat this for the remaining.
Sprinkle some podi masala on top of each idli and garnish with coriander leaves.
Cover with a lid and let them steam.
Once cooked, flip the idlis and cook on the other side too.
Serve hot with coconut chutney or podi chutney.
