TADKA DAL
this is truly a comfort food for almost every Indian! This is the most loved dish in every household. You can make dal tadka with a combination of dals. In this recipe we`re using Toovar Dal & Yellow moong dal. This dal recipe is so good, flavourful & so comforting. This recipe is simple to make it can be made in a jiffy. Just make sure not to overcook the Dal. The tempering is the main hero of this recipe. The tadka is what changes the flavour all together of this dal. Dal tadka is a staple in many households. INGREDIENTS
- ¼ cup yellow moong dal
- ¼ cup toovar dal
- 1 ½ Cups Water
- ½ tsp oil
- 2 Kashmiri red chillies dried
- 1/4 tsp Kashmiri red chilli powder
- ¼ tsp Kasturi methi
- ¾ Curry leaves
- Pinch Hing
- ¼ cup chopped tomatoes
- ¼ cup chopped onions
- 1 tbsp coriander
- 4 cloves garlic crushed
- ¼ tsp jeera
- ¼ tsp turmeric powder
- ¼ tsp garam masala
- ¼ tsp ginger green chilly paste
- 1 tbsp oil
- Salt to taste

METHOD
- Soak the yellow moong dal & toovar dal for 30 minutes.
- Pressure cook for 2 whistles with 1 ½ cup of water.
- In a small pan add in oil, kasturi methi, red chilli powder, mix well and cook for ½ a minute.
- In a pan heat oil, add jeera, hing, curry leaves, garlic, ginger green chilly paste, onions and tomatoes.
- Mix in turmeric powder, garam masala and salt. Cook for a minute.
- Add in the prepared tempering and coriander.
- Mix well and serve hot with rice or roti.
