South Indian sambar is a delicious thick lentil curry made with toor dal and mixed vegetables, tamarind & spices.?Vegetables like drumsticks, tomatoes, beans, carrots, pumpkin are generally used, you can add your choice of vegetables in it too! It is a staple dish in South Indian homes and is also equally popular and loved by many. It pairs well with idlis, dosas, wadas and some prefer to have it with some steamed rice. Ingredients:
- ½ Cup Toor Dal
- 1/2 Cup Chopped French beans (Boiled)
- 1/2 Cup Chopped Drumstick (boiled)
- 1/4 Cup Carrot(Boiled)
- 1/4 Cup Peas(Boiled)
- 2 Small Brinjal (Boiled)
- 2 tbsp Tamarind
- ¼ Cup Water
- 1 Tomato
- 2 Kashmiri Red Chillies
- 2 tbsp Oil
- 1 tsp Mustard seeds
- 1/4 tsp Hing
- 7-8 Curry leaves
- 1/4 tsp red chilli powder
- 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
- 1 ½ tsp sambhar masala
- ½ Cup water
- Salt to taste
- 1 tsp sugar
- 1/2 tsp lemon juice
- 1 tbsp Chopped Coriander
